Flashblock is an extension for the Google Chrome that blocks all Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.
Supported whitelist (press Ctrl+Shift+F for adding a site) and saving flash/flash-video on Ctrl+Click.
Flashblock currently blocks the following content types:
Flashblock used the rules from Flashblock for Firefox.
Added context menu with functions: "Disable FlashBlock", "Hide placeholders", "Copy flash address", "Copy flash-video address", "Download flash-video".

I’m using Chrome 5. It doesn’t work on some floating flash ads. If you can hide or kill those annoying ads at all that would be great.
Works fine but no way to unblock a page if you block it by mistake. You have to uninstall flashblock if you ever want to see flash on that site again.
YouTube does NOT work if you install this! Google is checking for FlashBlocker and disables any video.
Doesn’t play well with YouTube
Why do I keep getting an error that says “Attempted to downgrade extension” on one computer when I was able to install it perfectly fine on my other computer??
it works the 1st and 2nd two times with youtube tehn after restarting the browser doesn’t work at all
Seems there might be a bug in blocking some content. This FlashBlock plugin can be seen circumvented via the link below:
http://www.meebo.com/advertisers/
Notice that the Flash content loads even though the site is not whitelisted. I have seen other examples of this too…
On Chrome 6 and it worked just fine with YouTube, both before and after a restart of the browser. Also would be great to be able to remove sites from whitelist like on ff, which you can’t seem to do right now (so be sure you want flash forever when you whitelist a site)
Can’t edit whitelist directly, so there is no way to add Google Maps domain to enable Street View.
I dunno why you guys are having issues. I’m using the newest version of both Chrome and Firefox and I have never had a site permanently blocked, had an issue with any apps, had issues with youtube, or anything else you’re reporting. And wtf do you mean you can never unblock a page? YOU don’t block the page. Flashblock blocks the page every single time automatically. The function of Flashblock allows you to unblock the page every time you load it up. Any of these particular problems associated with Flashblock are down to user error.
we need to have a white-list for sites that we wants flash applets to be automatically loaded.
when using http://google.com/analytics for example, this extension is very annoying.
apart from that, great extension, thank you.
Chrome Flash Block extension doesn’t work well with YouTube need more improvement.
I am not experiencing any of the bugs with Youtube mentioned in the comments posted in April.
must have been fixed. thank you.
I do still require a white-list for Google Analytics.
thank you
Like J.prithvi said…there’s no going back. If you allow flash on a site, there’s no way to re-block it.
