Welcome to Extensions and Addons

There's a new web browser on the scene called Google Chrome, however one of the downfalls with this early Beta release is the reduced functionality we are used to with more developed browsers such as FireFox. The solution is to extend this functionality of the Chrome browser by implementing things called Addons or Extensions.

Chrome Extensions

Since the debut of Google's Chrome browser, it has taken the world by storm with millions of downloads by everyone from the average internet user through to the developer wanting to crack open this open source application to tinker with it's inner workings in order to develop Extensions to make Chrome do things it's otherwise not supposed to do.

Click the download link at the top right of the screen to start browsing Chrome resources and themes until we get established.

Chrome Addons

Slowly but surely the API to produce these various Addons will be released, enabling use to transform the Google Chrome browsing experience in to something more akin to FireFox but only faster. So where does that leave us? Waiting for Google to toss the API our way, we are waiting like a dog waiting for a bone so we can start the development process. Until we kick off, checkout Google Chrome Plugins which has already kicked off early with various Themes, Tips and Tricks and Tools to start tweaking.

Google Chrome

Google has thankfully released Chrome as an Open Source product which allows us to adapt, modify and extend the browser until our hearts content. This is just like cracking open the lock for us to dig in to the source code and do what we want unlike competitors such as MS and their IE browser. We are at work developing, so in the mean time until we go officially "live" check out the Chrome Forum to discuss everything about Chrome.
