About ZWallet - Shielded Zcash Wallet
ZWallet is a Zcash wallet that lives in Chrome. Create a new 24-word backup or restore a 12- or 24-word phrase you already have. The phrase and keys stay on this computer, locked with a password you set. We do not hold accounts and we cannot move your funds.
It speaks current Zcash mainnet: transparent, Sapling, Orchard, and Ironwood. Receive on a unified address when you want the payment to land shielded. If someone has to pay a transparent address, you can derive extra t-addresses instead of handing out the same one every time — reuse is how people get linked on-chain. Those extra addresses still belong to this wallet; they just keep receipts from looking identical.
Transparent ZEC can be shielded from the home screen. Sends prefer shielded funds. Fees follow ZIP 317, and shielded sends can carry an optional memo.
Sync uses compact blocks. Chrome will close the toolbar popup the moment you click away, so ZWallet opens a tab for that work. Leave the tab open and it keeps up with the chain in the background. The popup is still fine for a quick look at the balance.
Nyx mixnet is optional and off by default. Turn it on if you want sends and shields to leave through the mixnet instead of a straight broadcast. You can also set a delay so the transaction sits locally until that timer runs out — useful when you do not want the spend to hit the network the second the proof finishes. Compact-block sync stays on the usual gRPC-web path either way.
The wallet can show an approximate USD value next to your ZEC, auto-lock after a few minutes, and switch language (English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese). Recovery words are only shown after you enter the password.
Independent software.
