About ZoomSpot – Area Zoom & Picture-in-Picture
Give the part that matters more room.
ZoomSpot lets you select a rectangular area of a web page and watch a larger live view in a separate window. Focus on a video, a chart, an online lesson, or a small detail while keeping the original page open.
SELECT YOUR AREA
Click ZoomSpot, choose “Select an area,” then drag around the part you want to see. Press Escape to cancel before finishing your selection.
A LARGER LIVE VIEW
Resize the viewing window while preserving the selection's proportions. Use fullscreen or Picture-in-Picture when you want another viewing layout. Use the arrow controls for fine positioning, +/− for zoom adjustments, and R to return to your original selection.
SAVE A VIEW FOR LATER
Save a named area and reopen it on the same website. Saved areas contain coordinates and viewing adjustments, not screenshots or video files. If a page's layout changes, make a new selection.
FREE AND LOCAL
No account, subscription, advertising, or analytics. The extension processes the tab's visual frames on your device. It does not upload the captured view or record it to a file. Saved areas stay in this browser profile.
HOW IT WORKS
ZoomSpot uses Chrome's tab-capture feature after you invoke the extension. Chrome supplies a live visual stream of the current tab; ZoomSpot crops that stream to your selected area for display. Audio continues on the original page. Keep that page open while viewing. Close the viewing window to stop its capture.
COMPATIBILITY
Requires desktop Chrome 116 or later. Internal Chrome pages and pages where Chrome disallows capture or script injection are not supported. Some protected video may appear black. Scrolling or changing the page can change what is inside the selected screen area. One active ZoomSpot view per source tab.
ZoomSpot changes how content you can already view is displayed. It does not unlock paid content or remove DRM. The extension interface is currently in English.
