The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About YouTube Playback Position Saver
YouTube Playback Position Auto Save v1.10.0
[ Overview ]
A Chrome extension that automatically saves YouTube playback positions in your browser and resumes videos where you left off when you revisit them.
Works even if YouTube watch history is turned off. All saved data remains strictly in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and is never sent to external servers.
[ Key Features ]
■ Playback Position Saving and Restoration
- Automatically saves playback positions (interval options: 5, 10, or 30 seconds; default: 5 seconds).
- Saves during page navigation, browser back/forward buttons, tab hiding, and page closing.
- Automatically restores the saved position when you revisit a video.
- Optional toast notification when restoration completes (can be turned on/off).
- Configurable auto-play after restoration (can be turned off to keep the video paused at the saved position).
■ Scope Control and Cleanup
- Option to skip saving short watch times (options: 10 seconds, 30 seconds, or 1 minute).
- Automatically deletes saved data for completed videos (can be turned on/off).
- Automatically cleans up old saved data (options: 30, 90, or 180 days).
- Suppresses saving during ads and retries restoring the main video after ads finish.
- Excludes ongoing live streams (archived live streams are handled like regular videos).
■ Popup and Data Management
- Toolbar popup to view, search, and delete saved videos individually.
- Automatically switches to an existing YouTube tab if available when opening from the popup (or always opens in a new tab).
- One-click deletion of all saved video data.
- JSON export and import for saved data and settings.
- Language support: Japanese and English.
[ Privacy and Data ]
All data is stored exclusively in your browser (chrome.storage.local) with no external network transmission.
- Stored items: Video ID, playback position, video duration, save timestamp, page title, and extension settings.
[ Notes and Limitations ]
- Operates only on standard YouTube video watch pages (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...).
- Does not save or restore playback positions for ongoing live streams (including DVR playback).
- During ads, restoration is deferred and retried once the ad finishes.
- Browser autoplay policies may block playback from starting automatically after restoration (in that case, resume playback manually).
- If the video duration differs from the saved duration by more than 5 seconds, restoration is skipped to prevent incorrect seeking.
