YouTube Minimalist: Whitelist Blocker

Watch only what you need. Become a YouTube minimalist. Only the information you need for work and study — from YouTube. Distracting videos never enter your view in the first place. --- You sat down at your computer, determined to focus today. You open YouTube to look something up. By the time your first video ends, the right side of the screen is lined with recommended videos that perfectly understand your tastes. Before you know it, you've watched three unrelated videos, and when you check the clock, 40 minutes are gone — even though you came here to find information for work. Does this sound familiar? --- ### What is a YouTube Minimalist This tool doesn't use a blacklist approach that removes things you don't want to see one by one. Instead, it uses a whitelist approach that only lets through what's worth watching from the start. Only videos matching keywords you've registered in advance will play; everything else is automatically blocked. Rather than relying on willpower, it changes the environment itself, letting you keep a minimal relationship with YouTube. --- ## ⭐ Key Features ⭐ 🔑 Whitelist Keyword (WK) Registration Register keywords you need for work or study in advance. If a video title partially matches, it plays; when multiple keywords are registered, matching just one is enough (simple OR logic). Not case-sensitive. 🎬 Automatic Block Judgment When you navigate to a video page, judgment happens automatically as soon as the title is determined. Videos that don't match are blocked before playback, stopping you before you accidentally watch them. 🖼️ Thumbnails Are Blurred Too, Out of Sight Not just video pages — thumbnails on the home screen, search results, and related videos are also automatically blurred if they don't match your WK. This cuts off the moment before an eye-catching thumbnail tempts you to press play. 🚫 Choose How Blocking Works When a video is blocked, choose between two behaviors: "redirect to the YouTube homepage" or "show an overlay message." Pick whichever suits you. 🗓️ Time-Based Blocking Blocking is only active during the time windows you set. Outside those hours, you can watch without restriction. ⏱️ Daily Allowed Viewing Time (Pro) Even during blocked hours, you can set a daily allowance of time to watch non-WK videos. Not all-or-nothing — a realistic way to operate. --- ## Free vs Pro Free - WK registration: up to 10 - Time-based blocking: one continuous time window per day - Thumbnail blurring: up to 20 per page view Pro - WK registration: unlimited - Time-based blocking: multiple time windows per day, configurable by day of the week - Daily allowed viewing time: configurable - Thumbnail blurring: unlimited Install it and change your relationship with YouTube. You'll still be able to watch the videos you need for work, just as before. Everything else quietly disappears. --- ## About Permissions This extension requires access to YouTube (youtube.com) to judge video titles and control display or close tabs as needed, as well as storage permission to save your settings. It does not collect or transmit any personal data from the pages you visit.
