YouTube Focus

Make room for what you came to watch. YouTube Focus gives you simple controls to reduce distractions on YouTube. Hide the parts you do not want to see, choose your player layout, and keep your preferences on your own device. YOUR CONTROLS • Hide recommended videos beside the video you are watching. • Hide the comments section. • Hide Shorts cards, shelves, and navigation shortcuts. • Hide the home recommendation feed and start with search or subscriptions. • Choose Original or Wide player layout. Wide keeps the video contained without cropping or stretching. ONE-CLICK FOCUS MODE Focus mode enables all four distraction controls and switches to Wide. Turn it off to restore your previous preferences. Changing an individual preference exits the preset and keeps your new combination. EASY TO PAUSE Use the main switch to pause all changes without losing your preferences. Reset defaults at any time. Settings apply to your open YouTube tabs without a page refresh after the extension has loaded. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No analytics. No backend. The extension does not collect or transmit personal data, browsing history, or video history. Preferences are stored locally on your device and are not synced to an account. Access is limited to the desktop YouTube website. HOW TO USE 1. Install the extension and refresh any YouTube tabs that were already open. 2. Open YouTube Focus from Chrome's Extensions menu and optionally pin it. 3. Choose the distractions to hide, or turn on Focus mode. DEFAULTS Recommended videos and comments are hidden by default. Shorts and the home feed remain visible until you choose to hide them. Player layout starts as Original. PLEASE NOTE This extension does not block ads, force video resolution, or prevent direct access to Shorts links. It is intended for www.youtube.com in desktop Chrome, rather than mobile pages or embedded players. Playlist queues and live chat are not targeted by the hiding rules.
