The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About YouTube → Discogs Finder
YouTube → Discogs Finder automatically finds the matching Discogs release for the music you're watching on YouTube.
When you open a music video on YouTube or YouTube Music, the extension analyzes the available metadata and displays the best matching Discogs release directly below the video title.
Features
• Automatically detects songs from YouTube videos.
• Finds matching Discogs releases using multiple search strategies.
• Displays release artwork, label, catalog number, formats, year, community rating, and marketplace price statistics.
• Shows the best match, with optional additional results.
• Opens releases directly on Discogs with one click.
• Supports YouTube's light and dark themes.
• Works with normal YouTube navigation without requiring page reloads.
• Uses local caching to reduce API requests and improve performance.
Authentication
A free Discogs Personal Access Token is required to access the Discogs API. The token is stored locally in Chrome Sync Storage and is only used for requests to the official Discogs API. It is never sent to any other service.
Permissions
storage – saves your settings (Discogs token, username, preferences)
activeTab – reads information from the current YouTube page
scripting – injects the Discogs panel into YouTube pages
Access is limited to youtube.com, music.youtube.com, and api.discogs.com.
Beta
This is an early public beta. Matching accuracy continues to improve and some edge cases are still being refined.
