About XDMosaic
Open your bookmarks over the page you are reading, not beside it.
XDMosaic opens as a floating panel anchored to the toolbar icon, so the page behind it never shifts or reflows. Start typing and it narrows to what you meant: search matches the title, the address, and the folder a bookmark lives in, and handles abbreviations, so "wkn" finds "Weeknight noodle soup". When fuzzy is not what you want, quote an exact phrase, exclude a word with a minus sign, or limit the search to one site.
Pin the handful you open constantly to the top. Save the page you are on into any folder, with the title the way you want it; it remembers the last folder you used and tells you if the page is already bookmarked. Rename a bookmark, fix a broken address, or move it to another folder without leaving the panel. Delete with one keystroke and undo it with another.
For bigger clean-ups there is a full tab: select many bookmarks at once, move or delete them together, drag them into order, sort by title, date or site, and find every bookmark pointing at the same page. It keeps a snapshot of your collection once a day for the last week, so a deletion you notice on Friday is still recoverable. It can also check whether your bookmarks still lead anywhere and show you which ones are gone.
Everything runs on your own machine against the bookmarks your browser already has. There is no account to create, nothing is uploaded, and by default the extension makes no network requests at all. The one exception is the link check, which has to ask each site whether its page is still there. It is off until you turn it on, runs only when you press the button, and never sends your cookies.
Press Alt+B or click the toolbar icon to open it.
