Windy Word

Windy Word puts a small button with its logo beside the text box you are typing in, in web chats, mail, forums, support desks and anywhere else with a text box. Click it, speak, click again. Your words are written straight into that box. Nothing is pasted into another window and nothing is typed anywhere else. The button works with the free Windy Word desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux (https://windyword.ai), which does the transcription: on your computer with on-device models, or in Windy Word's cloud if you choose that in the app. The extension itself talks only to that app, through the browser's native-messaging channel. It never sends your audio or text anywhere on its own. - Works beside a site's own microphone button, or on sites that have none (job applications, contact forms, marketplace messages). - Never appears on password, one-time-code or card fields. - It is on every site out of the box, so it is there when you need it. To limit it to certain sites, use your browser's Site access setting for the extension (Extensions → Windy Word → Details → Site access). - What you dictate is kept in your Windy Word archive if archiving is on in the app.
