About Who Watches the Watchlist — Price Tracker & Price Drop Alerts for eBay

Who Watches the Watchlist is a free eBay watchlist price tracker. It records the price of every item on your eBay watchlist, draws a price history chart for each one, and sends you a price drop alert when an item reaches the price you want. There is no account and no signup, and your watchlist and price history stay in your browser. Watch an item on eBay the way you already do. The extension picks it up on its next check and starts tracking it, Buy It Now listings and auctions alike. What it does • Price history for every item on your eBay watchlist, with a chart per item showing the all-time low, high and average, and whether the price really moved or just bounced and came back • Price drop alerts: a desktop notification when an item's price moves by an amount or a percent you choose, down, up or either way • Target price alerts: get notified the moment an item drops below (or rises above) a price you name • Auction tracking: follow the current bid on auctions you're watching, with the time left • Price trend sparklines and the change since you started watching, right in the toolbar popup • Set an alert without leaving the popup: click the bell next to any item • One switch to silence all notifications, for example while you're away • Search and sort your tracked items by recently added, price or name • Export your price history summary to CSV in one click • Remove an item from your eBay watchlist from the popup or dashboard, with a confirm step • Read and edit an item's eBay "Note to self" from the item's view • Optional, off by default: write a short price log into an item's "Note to self", so the history travels with the item on eBay Works on 14 eBay sites eBay's sites for the US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, the Netherlands and Poland. Prices are tracked in each site's own currency, and browsing other eBay sites never moves your tracked items or their history. How to start Sign in to eBay in this browser and install the extension. That's it, there is nothing else to sign up for. A few times a day it checks your watchlist in the background, using the eBay account you're already signed in to, and writes down each item's current price. Change the schedule or press Refresh now any time from the dashboard. Toolbar name: Watchlist Monitor. How it works (the important bit) The extension only checks prices while Chrome is running. If Chrome is fully closed for a while you'll see a gap in the history — it resumes automatically next time you open Chrome. Checks are scheduled (default every 4 hours; configurable) and you can also press "Refresh now" any time. You must be signed in to eBay in the same browser. Privacy No personal data leaves your computer — your watchlist, price history, and settings stay in your browser. We do send anonymous install / session-start / uninstall counters to Google Analytics so we can tell how many people use the extension and which version they're on; no item data, prices, or watchlist content is included. There are no separate accounts. Aside from those counters, the only thing the extension loads from the internet is your own eBay watchlist page, using the sign-in you already have. The extension never bids or buys. There are a few things it can change on your eBay account, all under your control: it can remove an item from your watchlist, but only when you click the Remove control on that item and confirm; you can write, edit, or clear an item's "Note to self" yourself from the item's view; and, if you turn on the optional setting, it can write a short price log into that note automatically (off by default, only for items that don't already have a note). By default, clicks on items in the dashboard go to eBay through eBay's affiliate program (see "Earning a commission" below); you can turn this off in settings. Full policy: https://raylytics.io/ebaywatchlist/privacy Why I built it I'm an eBay super user, and prices on my watchlist seemed to change over time without me being able to confirm it. I kept asking: • Is this item at its best price or its highest price? • Did the seller raise the price and then drop it to show a discount that isn't a real discount? • Is an item slowly coming down, so I should wait until it hits a target? Now I know for sure. I'm a solo developer and use this extension every day, so it keeps getting refined. Feedback and bug reports are welcome and get a reply. Also included: Haunted Doll Watch An optional, seasonal mode that follows eBay's newest haunted doll listings, with a haunt level from Dormant to Do Not Buy. It's off unless you turn it on, and your watchlist keeps being checked while it runs. Earning a commission (on by default, one-click opt-out) When you click an item from inside the extension to view it on eBay, the click goes through eBay's affiliate program with our partner ID, so if you buy that item within 24 hours, eBay pays us a small commission. The price you pay does not change. We receive only aggregate click and purchase counts from eBay, never your personal information. You can turn this off any time from the dashboard's settings. FAQ Q: Do I need to sign up for anything extra? A: No. It just uses your normal eBay sign-in in this browser. No separate account, no special setup. Q: Does it bid or buy anything? A: No. It never bids or buys. By default it only reads prices. It can change a few things only when you ask: it removes an item from your watchlist if you click that item's Remove control and confirm; it lets you write, edit, or clear an item's "Note to self" yourself; and, if you turn on the optional setting, it writes a short price log into that note automatically (only for items that don't already have a note). Nothing happens automatically unless you turn that one setting on. Q: Does the developer make money from this extension? A: Maybe a little. By default, clicks on items inside the extension go to eBay through eB…
