About Webex Power Tools
Webex Power Tools gives you convenient controls for watching Webex recordings, with temporary playback speed, seek gestures, keyboard shortcuts and clear on-screen feedback.
HOLD TO SPEED UP
Hold Space or the left mouse button on the video for temporary faster playback. The default is 2x, with selectable rates from 1.25x to 4x. Release to restore the previous speed. If the recording was paused, temporary playback returns to the paused state when you release.
SEEK WITH A CLICK
Double-click the left quarter of the video to go back, or the right quarter to go forward. The default step is 5 seconds. After the first double-click, each rapid additional click on the same side adds another step. Pause between clicks to start a new sequence. Customize backward and forward steps independently, from 1 to 120 seconds, or use the 5s, 10s, 15s and 30s presets. A right click on the video can also seek backward.
KEYBOARD CONTROLS
- Space: tap to play/pause; hold for temporary speed.
- J / K / L: seek backward, play/pause and seek forward.
- M: mute/unmute and restore the previous volume level.
- Up / Down arrows: change volume by a configurable step.
MAKE IT YOURS
Enable or disable individual gestures and shortcuts, choose your temporary speed, and turn on-screen action indicators on or off. The settings interface can follow your browser language.
Supported interface languages: English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese (Portugal), Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Arabic and Russian.
PRIVACY AND ACCESS
The extension operates on HTTPS Webex pages. It processes media state and playback-control key and mouse events locally to implement these controls. It has no analytics, advertising, project backend or remote code. Only preferences are saved in Chrome extension storage; Chrome may synchronize them through your profile. The extension does not upload recording content, account details or gesture logs to the developer.
Requires Chrome 127 or later and access to a playable Webex recording. It does not bypass recording access restrictions or download recordings. It is designed for recordings rather than live meetings. Player compatibility can vary when Webex changes its interface.
