About web-laas · LaTeX Auto Snippets
Emacs-style LaTeX snippets for every editor on the web, with live previews.
Type ;a → \alpha, x/ → \frac{x}{}, `b → \beta, ab'. → a\dot{b} — in any text field or web editor.
If you write math in Emacs with laas and cdlatex, web editors feel slow. web-laas brings the same snippets to the browser, ported one-to-one from the Emacs packages, along with the same Tab behaviour.
What you get
• All 218 laas snippets: Greek letters and symbols (;a, ;;e), arrows and relations (!=, ->, <=, iff), automatic subscripts (x1 → x_1), smart fractions (x/, (a+b)/) and accents.
• cdlatex as well: ` symbol levels (`a → \alpha), ' modifiers, _ → _{}, Tab commands (fr, sq, lr(, equ) and $ [ { pairing.
• Tab that knows LaTeX. Fields work like yasnippet, snippets nest, and Tab moves out of a group or into the next one.
• Live preview. A floating card renders the formula under the caret.
• Formulas rendered in place. Once the caret leaves a formula, it is drawn rendered over its source as crisp SVG (MathJax). It stays fast on long documents.
• A searchable cheat sheet (Alt+Shift+K) and your own snippets, written in a small config language on the options page.
• Per-site control. Turn it off for a site from the toolbar, and choose $…$ or \(…\) and the display style for each site.
Privacy: everything runs locally in your browser. web-laas collects no data, sends nothing anywhere and loads no remote code. Your settings stay in Chrome's extension storage.
