The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Web Copy — by Web Syntax
Web Copy — by Web Syntax
Web Copy helps restore normal text selection, copying, context menus, and common keyboard shortcuts on websites that restrict these interactions.
Some websites use scripts or CSS to prevent users from selecting text, copying content, opening the context menu, or using common keyboard shortcuts. Web Copy helps restore these normal browser interactions on the current page.
KEY FEATURES
• Restore text selection
Select text normally using your mouse or trackpad where a website has disabled text selection.
• Restore copying
Use normal copy and cut actions where the website has disabled them.
• Restore right-click
Restore the normal context menu where possible when a website blocks right-click interactions.
• Restore keyboard shortcuts
Keep common shortcuts such as Copy, Cut, and Select All available where possible.
• Restore the normal mouse cursor
Web Copy restores a visible, normal cursor while preserving appropriate cursors for links, buttons, and text fields.
• One-click control
Enable or disable Web Copy directly from the extension popup for the current page.
• Keyboard shortcut
Use Ctrl + Shift + C on Windows/Linux or Command + Shift + C on macOS to toggle Web Copy.
• Lightweight and privacy-friendly
Web Copy does not require an account, does not use an external server, and does not send your browsing content to a remote service.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open a webpage where normal text selection or copying has been restricted.
2. Click the Web Copy extension icon.
3. Enable Web Copy for the current page.
4. Select, copy, cut, or right-click normally where the page allows it.
5. Use Ctrl + Shift + C or Command + Shift + C to quickly toggle the extension.
IMPORTANT
Web Copy cannot modify every type of webpage. Browser-restricted pages, canvas or image-based content, DRM-protected content, CAPTCHA pages, login-gated content, and other technical access controls may not be affected.
Web Copy does not remove ownership rights, access controls, or restrictions imposed by the browser itself. It is designed to restore normal browser interactions that are restricted by webpage scripts or styles.
Please use Web Copy only where you are authorized to access and copy the content.
PRIVACY
Web Copy is designed with a privacy-first approach. It does not require an account or external service to perform its core functionality. The extension does not send the content of the pages you visit to a remote server.
Web Copy is developed and maintained by Web Syntax.
