The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About WAXid — sold history bridge
WAXid — sold history bridge is an optional helper for WAXid (waxid.app), a web app that identifies vinyl records. Photograph a record and WAXid names the pressing if it can, says honestly how sure it is, and asks for the one detail that would settle it.
This extension saves you copying and pasting from Discogs. It only acts when you press a button in WAXid:
• Get sold prices — on a scan result, it opens that record's Discogs sales-history page in the background, using your own signed-in Discogs session, reads the text, closes the page and passes the text to WAXid. WAXid then shows the typical sold price and the range your grade sold for. Works on every WAXid plan, including the free one.
• Fetch my recent orders from Discogs — on WAXid's Purchases page, it reads your Discogs purchases list and fills in the order numbers for you. Part of the purchase ledger (Extended Play and above).
What it can and can't see:
• Only those two kinds of Discogs page, and only when you press the button.
• It cannot see your Discogs collection, messages or account details.
• It never writes to Discogs and stores nothing on your computer.
• Discogs permission is optional, and you grant it the first time it's needed, not when you install.
The page text is sent to waxid.app over HTTPS only to work out what the record sells for, and is deleted from the server after six hours. Nothing is sold or shared.
You need a waxid.app account to use this. You don't need the extension to use WAXid: you can copy and paste the same Discogs page by hand, and that works on a phone too.
