WACompanion adds the organizing tools WhatsApp Web is missing — colored Lists, message tagging, reusable templates, chat reminders, and a privacy hotkey — without changing how WhatsApp itself works. Everything runs locally in your browser: no account, no login, no server of ours ever sees your chats. COLORED LISTS WhatsApp's own Lists (All, Unread, Favorites, Groups, and any custom List you create) get turned into single-letter, color-coded buttons in a sidebar, instead of staying buried in a small dropdown. Clicking one uses WhatsApp's own search under the hood, so it's exactly as accurate as WhatsApp's native filtering — not a guess. MESSAGE TAGGING Tag individual messages so you can find them again later — a price you quoted, an address someone sent, a decision made three weeks ago — without scrolling back through the whole conversation. MESSAGE TEMPLATES Save a reply once and insert it into WhatsApp's own compose box with a click, from any chat. Useful for business hours, pricing info, or any message you find yourself retyping. Nothing is auto-sent — you can still edit before hitting send. CHAT REMINDERS Attach a "remind me about this" note to any conversation. When it's due, a real operating-system notification fires, even if you've switched tabs or closed your laptop. If notification permission isn't granted, it falls back to an in-page alert. NEEDS REPLY / AWAITING REPLY Two live filters: "Needs Reply" surfaces chats where the last message is unanswered and isn't from you. "Awaiting Reply" flips it — chats where you're the one still waiting. Computed on the spot each time you open them, nothing stored in the background. PRIVACY / SCREEN-SHARE MODE One hotkey (Alt+Shift+Y by default, remappable) instantly blurs every chat name and message preview on screen — for the moment before a screen share or a demo at your desk. Press it again to un-blur. Purely local, no delay. GLOBAL SEARCH Search across every chat at once instead of one conversation at a time. LOCAL-FIRST, ALWAYS Every piece of data this extension creates — List colors, tags, templates, reminders — lives in your browser's own storage. There's no WACompanion account and nothing about your chats or contacts is ever transmitted anywhere. Settings → Export All Data lets you back it up yourself; that export is the only backup, since nothing syncs to a server we control. FREE PLAN LIMITS The extension is free with generous caps: up to 10 tags, 10 templates, 5 colored Lists, and 5 active reminders. Needs Reply, Awaiting Reply, global search, and Privacy Mode are free and uncapped on every plan. A separate desktop app removes the caps entirely for people who outgrow them — it's optional, not required to use anything above. Independent product.
