About Volume Controller
Volume Controller: precise sound for every tab
Turn any tab up, down, or off, and shape how it sounds. Volume Controller sits on top of the page as a transparent master control, so it boosts or lowers audio without fighting the site's own volume slider. Video sites, music players, meetings, streams: the page keeps working exactly as before, just at the level you want.
VOLUME, YOUR WAY
• Global volume and independent per-site levels, from 0% to 600%
• Set a level for a whole domain, or just one path (example.com vs example.com/watch)
• Six one-tap presets, editable in place: 25, 50, 75, 100, 200, 400 to start
• Mute one site, or mute every tab at once. Muting remembers your level for when you come back
• Saved-sites list with instant search
• Give any site its OWN sound, not just its own volume: its loudness mode, equalizer, delay & reverb and auto-pan are frozen from the current global ones, so changing a global later never quietly changes that site. Clear it and the site follows global again
SHAPE THE SOUND
• Loudness normalizer: holds quiet dialogue and loud action at one steady level, so you stop reaching for the volume during a movie. Gentle, Balanced, or Max, with a live meter that shows it working
• Equalizer: start from a preset or drag the curve, fine-tune any tone by pitch and cut/boost, and save your own presets
• Delay & reverb: add a touch of space and depth while keeping the original sound clear
• Auto-Pan: glide the sound left and right on a repeating loop, with your own width and speed
• Mono: combine the left and right channels into one
• Balance: pan left or right with a precise value box and a snap back to center
• A/B compare: instantly hear the page with the extension bypassed, then switch back
BUILT TO LIVE IN YOUR BROWSER
• Global keyboard shortcuts to open, mute, enable or disable, and turn volume up or down, all optional and fully customizable
• Light, dark, or system theme, with a custom accent color
• Back up and restore your settings as a file, or reset in one click
• A fast, single-window popup that opens instantly
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything stays on your device. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking
• No data ever leaves your browser
• Asks for only what it needs. It does not request access to your browsing history
GOOD TO KNOW
Browsers require a single click somewhere on a page before audio can be boosted above 100%. That is a browser rule, not a bug. A few internal browser pages and some cross-origin streams cannot be boosted, but lowering and muting still work everywhere. DRM video (the big subscription services) cannot be processed by any extension. Where a page's audio genuinely cannot be reached, the popup says so plainly instead of leaving you guessing.
Volume Controller is free and ad-free. If it is useful, an optional tip through Stripe's secure checkout helps keep it maintained. You choose the amount, and the extension store is not the seller or fundraiser.
