About Volta — Trading Intelligence

Volta tells you what kind of instrument you are looking at before you place anything. Binary options brokers list two kinds of instrument side by side, with labels that differ by three letters. Some are real markets, carrying the price of something people actually buy and sell. Others are generated — a random walk with a payout printed on it, produced by the broker rather than by a market. They look identical on a chart. That is the problem. The pattern you think you see on a generated series cannot mean anything, because nothing produced it. There is no supply, no demand, no news, and no reason for the next candle to relate to the last one in the way a real market's would. Technical analysis on a random walk is analysis of the random number generator's output, and it will keep producing convincing-looking setups forever. Volta reads the instrument you have open and tells you which of the two you are looking at. HOW IT WORKS Volta does not take the broker's label at its word. It works from the price series itself, measuring properties that real markets have and generators generally do not reproduce: Volatility clustering — in real markets, large moves follow large moves and quiet periods follow quiet periods. Volatility arrives in bursts. Most generated series have no memory of their own recent activity, so their volatility is flat where a real market's would be lumpy. Variance ratio — how the variance of returns scales as you lengthen the measurement window. A pure random walk scales in a very particular way. Real markets deviate from it, and the direction and size of that deviation is informative. Share of unchanged bars — how often the price simply does not move from one bar to the next. This is a function of tick density and real liquidity, and it is one of the harder things to fake convincingly. Sample size — every verdict carries the number of bars it was computed from, because a statistic from a thin sample is a guess wearing a decimal point. These are not proprietary magic. They are standard tools from the study of financial time series, applied to a question brokers do not answer directly. WHAT YOU SEE Open your broker's chart and the verdict sits beside it, in a small panel you can move, minimise, or close: - Whether the instrument is one Volta has seen before and has enough history to judge. - Its assessed origin: a real market, or a generated series. - Whether it is worth trading at all, in Volta's assessment. - A plain-language headline, and the detail behind it if you want to read further. - The break-even win rate implied by the payout currently on offer — the share of trades you would need to win simply to end level, before anything else is considered. - The underlying profile numbers, so you can see what the verdict was built from rather than being asked to trust it. Volta also reads the payout percentage and the OTC label from the chart page, because both change what the numbers mean. CHART READ There is a second, optional mode. If you ask for it, Volta captures a screenshot of the visible chart and sends it to Google's Gemini models for a description of what the picture looks like. This is presented for what it is, and no more. It is a vision model's impression of an image. It has no track record, no calibration, and no connection to the statistical work above. Volta styles it neutrally and labels it as an impression rather than a recommendation, deliberately, so it is never mistaken for the verdict. Nothing is captured or sent unless you explicitly ask for a chart read. WHERE IT WORKS Volta has broker adapters for: - PocketOption - IQ Option On those sites it activates automatically on a chart page. Elsewhere, clicking the toolbar icon will still bring up the panel, but without an adapter it cannot read the instrument name, the payout or the OTC label from the page, so the reading will be incomplete. WHAT VOLTA DOES NOT DO This matters more than the feature list, so it is stated plainly. Volta does not place trades. It has no connection to your broker account, no ability to submit an order, and no automation of any kind. It reads the page and reports. Every decision remains yours. Volta does not predict prices, and it does not claim an edge. It answers one question — is this a real market or a generated one — and that question is not the same as "will this trade win". Nothing in this extension should be read as a forecast, a signal to act on, or a claim that using it will make money. Volta is not financial advice. Trading binary options carries substantial risk of loss, and most people who trade them lose money. Knowing that an instrument is a real market does not make it safe to trade, and a break-even figure is arithmetic about the payout, not a prediction about the outcome. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY EACH ONE EXISTS Volta asks for the narrowest set of permissions that lets it work. It does not request access to all websites. Site access is limited to three domains — pocketoption.com, iqoption.com and iqbroker.com — which are the only sites with a broker adapter, plus volta.clockee.app, which is Volta's own API. Every network request the extension makes goes to that one host and nowhere else. Storage holds your Volta session token and the API endpoint. The token is kept in extension storage specifically so that it is out of the broker page's reach, where any script the broker chooses to load could otherwise read it. Active tab and scripting let the toolbar button and the keyboard shortcut place the panel on the page you are currently looking at, including a tab that was already open before you installed Volta. Tabs lets Volta read the current page's address, so it can decide whether to show the in-page panel or fall back to the side panel, and lets it capture the visible chart when you ask for a chart read. Side panel provides a fallback surface for pages that cannot host the in-page panel at all. PRIVACY Volta collects your acco…
