The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About VKT Shortcut - Keyboard Shortcut Blocker & Remapper
vkt-shortcut — Keyboard Shortcut Manager
Take back control of your keyboard. vkt-shortcut lets you block unwanted keyboard shortcuts on any website, remap keys to custom combos, or silence every page shortcut on a site at once — all processed locally, with no tracking.
WHY vkt-shortcut?
Most shortcut blockers can only disable keys. vkt-shortcut goes further: block for free, remap with Premium, kick off with one-click site presets, and choose whether each rule applies everywhere or just on specific sites.
KEY FEATURES
🚫 Block shortcuts — intercept and disable any keyboard shortcut on any website
⚡ Site presets — one-click blocks for known hotkey conflicts on popular sites like YouTube and GitHub
🧱 Block all page shortcuts — a per-site switch (plus a global one in Settings) silences every page hotkey at once, while typing, arrow keys, clipboard and refresh keep working
🔁 Remap keys — redirect one key combo to another (Premium)
🌐 Global + per-site rules — rules apply everywhere by default; optionally scope a rule to one site (subdomains included)
⌨️ Key recording — click the input and press the combo; it's captured automatically
📍 Current-site bar — one tap to create a rule for the site you're on, block all shortcuts there, or pause rules on a single site
🧠 Smart typing protection — single-character rules won't fire while you're typing in input fields
🎮 Triple key matching — matches e.key, e.code and keyCode simultaneously, so rules work in web apps and games, even after keyboard layout changes
📤 Import / export — back up your rules as JSON (Premium)
🚦 Global toggle — pause everything without deleting your rules
HOW IT WORKS
1. Click the ⌨️ icon in your toolbar to open the side panel
2. Click "➕ New Rule" — or expand Site Presets and block a popular site's conflicting keys in one click
3. Choose Block (disable a key) or Remap (redirect key A → key B)
4. Press the key combo you want to intercept — it's recorded automatically
5. (Optional) scope the rule to a website like youtube.com, or leave blank to apply everywhere
6. Save — the rule takes effect immediately, no page refresh needed
USE CASES
• Web apps — stop F1 from opening help in Google Docs, Office 365, or any web editor
• Online games — disable page-defined hotkeys that interfere with gameplay
• Developer tools — remap shortcuts that conflict with your IDE keybindings
• Accessibility — remap complex combos to simpler keys
• Presentations — block everything except the keys you need
PRIVACY FIRST
• Rules never leave your browser — everything is processed locally
• No analytics, no tracking, no cookies
• Rules are stored in your browser only
• Only "storage" and "sidePanel" permissions required
GOOD TO KNOW
• Works with Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers (Manifest V3)
• Browser-reserved keys (like Ctrl+W or F11) can't be intercepted by any extension
• Free tier: block, record, site presets, block-all switches, global toggle, up to 20 rules — no account required
