About VisuCalc OCR
Need to add up numbers in a PDF, an image, a scanned invoice or a web page? Start VisuCalc and draw a box around the numbers: the total appears instantly, like selecting cells in Excel.
🔒 100% LOCAL Reading happens in your browser, on your computer. No internet. No screenshot, number or other data is sent anywhere. VisuCalc does not watch the sites you visit: it only reads the area you draw, at the moment you draw it. No account, no ads, no tracking.
FEATURES
Reads numbers straight from your screen (local OCR) and highlights each one in place: green = counted, yellow = duplicate, red = doubtful (excluded from the total)
Subtotal per column, or per zone with Shift + drag
Tiny ✕ next to each number to ignore it; undo / redo (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y)
Double-click a number to correct its value
Average, minimum, maximum
Negatives in (brackets) or with a minus sign, even trailing (150.00-)
Formats: 1 250,50 · 1.250,50 · 1,250.50
Copy the total, or export the table to paste into Excel
Memory to add up totals from several pages; session history (cleared when the browser closes)
6 languages: French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Chinese
HOW IT WORKS
Press Ctrl+Q (or click the icon → "Select an area")
Draw a box around the numbers
Read the total, copy it or export it
GREAT FOR: accountants, managers, admin assistants, anything you can read on screen but can't copy (scanned PDFs, images, protected tables).
Limits: very blurry or tiny scans may be misread, always check the highlighted numbers before relying on a total. Currency symbols and letters (CR/DB) are not read. Chrome's internal pages (chrome://, Chrome Web Store) can't be analysed.
Default shortcut: Ctrl+Q (change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts).
