The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About VerticalTabs
DEPRECATED: Chrome now has vertical tabs built in.
As of September 29, 2026, Vertical-Tabs is deprecated and no longer maintained. Chrome now supports vertical tabs natively, so you no longer need an extension for this. No further updates will be published.
To use Chrome's built-in vertical tabs:
- Right-click the tab strip and choose "Show Tabs Vertically", or
- Go to Settings > Appearance > Tab position and choose Side.
If you don't see the option, update Chrome from Settings > About Chrome.
This listing stays available for people who already rely on the extension, and existing installs will keep working for now. Vertical-Tabs shows your tabs in Chrome's side panel with search, tab groups, pinned tabs and duplicate detection. It stores everything locally and needs no account.
