Vauban Guard

Vauban Guard brings the "behavioural friction" of the Vauban Android app to the Web. When you reach a payment page, the extension blurs the page and shows a wall with a QR code. You scan it with the Vauban app, which reminds you of your budget; if you confirm the purchase, it gives you a code to type in to unlock the payment. • Detects checkout flows, card forms and payment buttons. • Works offline: the extension and the phone only talk through encrypted QR codes (AES-256-GCM). No server, no account. • An approved purchase stays unlocked for 10 minutes on that site. • Local dashboard: blocked, abandoned and approved payments, per day and per site. • Excluded sites: choose the sites that should never be blocked. • Prices as working time: enter your hourly wage and every price shows how many hours of work it costs. Pairing with the phone requires Vauban PRO.
