The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Vanish – Hide Anything on Any Page
Some things on a page you just never want to see again. Vanish makes them
go away and keeps them away.
Click the Vanish icon, point at anything — a box, a sidebar, a widget, a
comment — and it's gone. Or type a word, and every block containing it
disappears. Your rules stick, so the page comes back clean every time you
visit.
WHAT PEOPLE USE IT FOR
🙈 Spoilers — blur or hide any post mentioning a show, a match, or a
name. Blurred blocks reveal on hover, so you decide when to look.
🔇 Keyword muting — tired of a topic in your feeds and comment sections?
Mute the word once and stop seeing it everywhere.
🧹 Page clutter — sidebars, "recommended for you" rails, newsletter
boxes, cookie nags, sticky headers that eat half the screen.
📦 The one box your ad blocker misses — every blocker leaves something
behind. Point at it and it's handled.
HOW IT WORKS
✛ Point and click — press Alt+V on any page, hover to highlight, click
to hide. Arrow keys widen or narrow the selection if the first guess
isn't quite right.
✍️ Or just type — enter a word in the popup and every block containing
it disappears. Regular expressions supported if you want them.
🎯 Per site or everywhere — a rule can apply to one site or to the whole
web. Your choice, every time.
👁 Hide or blur — blurred blocks stay in place and reveal on hover, which
is what you want for spoilers rather than a hole in the page.
⏸ Pause anytime — switch Vanish off for one site without deleting a
single rule.
↩️ Undo — got it wrong? One click puts it back.
BUILT TO BE FAST
Vanish never rescans a page it has already seen, does its work in idle
slices with a strict time budget, and refuses patterns that could hang a
tab. Even on infinite-scrolling feeds it stays out of the way.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No servers. No analytics. No accounts. No network requests of any kind.
Your rules are stored by Chrome on your own device and never leave it
unless you export them yourself. Works completely offline.
Vanish is a cosmetic filter, not an ad blocker: it does no network
filtering and ships no filter lists. It hides what you point at.
