The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Undock Engine
Tired of Gmail's split-pane view crowding your inbox list and email thread onto a single display?
Undock Engine frees your inbox. It detaches Gmail’s Reading Pane into a dedicated, synchronized secondary window—giving you a 100% full-width inbox on your primary screen and plenty of room to read threads on your second monitor.
Why Use Undock Engine?
• Dual-Monitor Efficiency: Scan your full inbox list on one monitor while reading long threads and replies on another.
• Native Gmail Hotkeys: Full single-key triage support (j/k to navigate, e to archive, # to delete, s to star, r to reply, u to re-dock).
• Zero Disruption: Built-in typing protection automatically pauses shortcuts while you compose searches, replies, or drafts.
• Persistent Layout: Remembers your detached window size, monitor placement, and appearance settings across sessions.
• Seamless Style Matching: Automatically mirrors your exact Gmail theme, dark mode, and custom interface fonts.
How to Use:
Enable Split Pane view in Gmail (Settings → Reading Pane → Right of Inbox).
Click the Undock button in the Gmail toolbar or press Ctrl+Shift+U (Cmd+Shift+U on macOS).
Triage your inbox on screen one; read emails on screen two.
Press "u" or close the secondary window at any time to re-dock instantly.
Privacy & Security:
• 100% Local Execution: Operates entirely inside your browser with no external servers, no telemetry, and zero tracking.
• No Content Storage: Does not store, log, or transmit your emails, credentials, or personal data.
Open Source & Repository:
Undock Engine is free and open source under the MIT License. You can inspect the source code, file bug reports, or contribute improvements directly on GitHub:

Technical Architecture (Under the Hood):
• Single Source of Truth: The primary Gmail tab retains authoritative state; the detached window functions as an active visual projection.
• Real-Time Synchronization: Powered by MutationObserver with sub-5ms sync latency, scroll reflection, and bi-directional event proxying back to Gmail's native DOM.
• Manifest V3 Compliant: Implements strict extension security boundaries with automated resource and listener teardown upon re-docking.
