unboxx

unboxx lets you inspect links before opening them. Hover a link or focus it with Tab to see the destination, page title, redirects and tracking parameters. What it does: - Expands short links and decodes common redirect wrappers. - Removes common tracking parameters such as utm_*, fbclid and gclid when you open or copy a link. - Warns when link text names a different site, or when a destination uses a look-alike domain, a raw IP address or an unusual download. - Copies a clean link or Markdown link, opens links in a new tab and lets you pause previews on any site. - Lets you choose when previews open and whether they show a live page, site image, screenshot or no image. Privacy: unboxx has no account, developer server or analytics. Metadata requests go from your browser to the destination and redirects before you click, without cookies or a referrer. Live previews load the destination in a restricted frame and may make normal page requests, including cookies if your browser allows them. Recent previews use local extension storage; settings and an optional Google Safe Browsing key use Chrome sync storage. Optional screenshot previews send the link to WordPress mShots. Optional Google Safe Browsing checks send links to Google when enabled with your own API key. Both optional services are off by default. unboxx is free. Settings includes optional links to leave a review on the Chrome Web Store or contribute through Stripe. Contributions do not unlock features.
