txscribe — record & transcribe any tab

Record the sound of any browser tab — a Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams call in the browser, a webinar, a lecture, a video — with your own microphone mixed in, and get the transcript in txscribe. No bot joins your call. The extension records what your own browser plays and what your own microphone hears, so nobody in the meeting sees a recorder join. HOW IT WORKS 1. Connect your txscribe account once. You sign in on txscribe.ai as usual — the extension never sees your password. 2. Open the tab you want, click the txscribe icon, and press "Record this tab". The tab stays audible while it's recorded. 3. Press Stop. The recording uploads itself and is transcribed in your txscribe account. WHAT YOU CAN COUNT ON • Your voice too: "Include my microphone" (on by default) mixes your microphone into the recording, so both sides of a call are in the transcript. • You see the sound arriving: a level meter for the tab and one for the microphone, with a timer, Pause and Resume. • Silence is caught early: if the tab or the microphone goes quiet for a while, the extension tells you while there is still time to fix it. • Survives a closed browser: the recording is saved in the browser every few seconds as it is made. If the browser quits or crashes, what was saved is offered to you again the next time you open the extension. • Uploads resume: an upload interrupted part-way carries on from where it stopped. IN TXSCRIBE Your transcript opens in txscribe, where you can read, search, edit, summarise, translate and export it. New accounts include free minutes to try it. PRIVACY The extension records only the tab you choose, only after you press Record. It does not read or change web pages and does not see your browsing. It sends recordings only to your txscribe account — the audio goes to the Google Cloud Storage address txscribe issues for each upload — and talks to no one else.
