Twitter / X GIF Downloader

Export GIFs and MP4 videos from X (Twitter) posts, directly from the share menu. Twitter / X GIF Downloader adds “Export GIF” and “Export video” buttons to supported posts. Create a GIF or save the retrieved video as an MP4 file, with progress shown in the same menu. HOW TO USE 1. Open a public X post containing a video or GIF. 2. Open the post’s share menu. 3. Click “Export GIF” to create a GIF, or “Export video” to save an MP4. 4. Follow the progress in the same button until your file is saved. FEATURES • Export GIFs or MP4 videos directly from the X share menu. • Save the complete retrieved video without trimming or re-encoding. • Create GIFs at 24 fps by default. • See the downloaded video size and a progress bar when the total size is available. • Follow GIF creation progress. • Cancel an active export by clicking the same button again. • Close and reopen the share menu to check progress. • Automatically save the finished file. • Get a clear message when a post contains no video or GIF. For clip selection, resizing and more GIF options, click the extension’s toolbar icon to open GIF Downloader. AVAILABILITY One export can run at a time in each X tab. Keep the source tab open until the export finishes. For posts containing multiple videos, the website’s default video selection is used. Availability and video quality depend on the source post and media support. Some videos may exceed loading or processing limits. DATA PROCESSING The selected post URL is sent to GIF Downloader and its media retrieval providers to obtain the video. GIF conversion runs locally in your browser. MP4 exports save the retrieved video without re-encoding. An internet connection is required. Basic operational diagnostics, including export status, duration and extension version, are collected to monitor reliability. This extension is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by X or Twitter.
