About TruthLens
TruthLens — AI-Assisted Fact-Checking While You Browse
TruthLens is a browser extension that helps users evaluate online claims, articles, images, and other content without leaving the page they are viewing.
Using AI-assisted analysis, optical character recognition (OCR), web evidence retrieval, fact-check sources, and community verification, TruthLens provides credibility assessments directly within the browser.
Key Features
• URL Fact-Checking — Submit an article or webpage URL for analysis. TruthLens evaluates the claim using available web evidence and fact-checking sources and returns a verdict such as Fact, Fake, Misleading, Satire, or Unverified.
• Image Snipping & OCR — Select part of the visible webpage using the built-in snipping tool. TruthLens extracts text from the selected image or infographic and analyzes the underlying claim.
• AI-Generated Image Analysis — Submit supported images for analysis of indicators associated with AI-generated or manipulated visual content.
• File Verification — Analyze supported documents containing textual claims through the TruthLens verification pipeline.
• In-Page Results — Verification results can appear directly on the webpage you are viewing, including the verdict, explanation, confidence information, and available supporting sources.
• TruthLens Community Integration — Signed-in users can connect the extension with the TruthLens Web Community Platform to access community verification features, claim history, evidence, and reputation features.
• Guest Mode — An account is not required to perform supported scans. A limited number of recent guest scan results may be stored locally and can be synchronized after signing in.

TruthLens submits the selected content to its verification service and processes the request.

Processing time varies depending on the type of analysis and the external evidence required.
Privacy
TruthLens does not collect your general browsing history or private messages. Content is processed when you actively use a TruthLens verification feature. Depending on the feature, the submitted URL, text, image, screenshot, or document may be sent to the TruthLens backend and necessary service providers to perform the requested analysis.
