The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About TrustTag Companion
TrustTag Companion checks every product on Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose against the allergen and dietary profile you save at trusttag.co.uk — so you don't have to read the same ingredients list three
times before it goes in your basket.
Built by someone with coeliac disease who was tired of doing exactly that.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Create a free profile at trusttag.co.uk — allergens, intolerances, or a lifestyle like vegan, halal, kosher or low-FODMAP.
2. Install this extension and sign in (or set your profile manually in the popup).
3. Shop as normal on Tesco, Sainsbury's or Waitrose. Every product card gets a clear border:
• Green — nothing in your profile was found
• Amber — a "may contain" trace warning matches something you flagged
• Red — a real ingredient matches a restriction you set
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
TrustTag reads the actual ingredients and allergen advice on each product page — not just the category or title — using a deterministic keyword-matching engine, not AI. That means its behaviour is
consistent and testable, not a black box guessing at your safety.
Once per browsing session you'll be asked to tap a small "Activate" prompt — this keeps the extension free for everyone rather than funded by ads or a subscription.
A NOTE ON SAFETY
TrustTag is a second check, not a replacement for reading the physical label. Always verify against the actual packaging, especially for a new or reformulated product.
Free to use. Covers Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose today, with more retailers being added.
