The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Transcript to PDF & Markdown for YouTube
YouTube already has the transcript. Getting it out of that little scrolling box is the hard part.
This opens the whole transcript beside the player — searchable, clickable, editable — then hands it over as a clean PDF, Markdown or text file, or straight to ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini with a prompt of your own.
WHAT IT DOES
• Export as PDF, Markdown or plain text, or copy to the clipboard
• Every caption track the video has, including auto-generated and translated ones
• Search the transcript, and click any line to jump the video to that second
• The transcript follows along as the video plays
• Tidies auto-captions: speaker markers become breaks, sentences get their capitals back
• Clickable timestamps in Markdown that link back to the exact moment
• Chapters become headings, so a long talk is navigable instead of a wall
• Send it to an AI with your own saved prompts — edit them, add your own, pick a default
• Keep notes against any video in a Markdown editor, with a readable view
• A history of everything you exported, searchable by video name
• Four panel themes
NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER
There is no sign-in, no API key and no upload. It reads the caption track your browser can already see and writes the file to your machine. Your notes, prompts, history and settings stay in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
It does not transcribe audio — it exports the captions YouTube already has, which is why it is instant and free. A video with captions switched off has nothing to export.
