Transcript & Summary for YouTube

Turn the captions available on a YouTube video into clean, readable text without leaving the video page. Main features: • Complete transcript view: combines the available YouTube caption blocks into continuous text without timestamps. • Timestamped text view: keeps YouTube's caption blocks separate and preserves their start times. • Optional Google Gemini summary: create a clear bullet-point summary with your own Gemini API key. • Seven interface and summary languages: English, Turkish, Spanish, German, French, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. • Saved preferences: your selected interface language and Gemini key remain in this Chrome profile after restarting Chrome. Transcript extraction does not use Gemini and does not require an API key. The extension reads caption data already available for the current YouTube video; it does not create a new audio transcription. Gemini is used only when you explicitly select Create Summary. The transcript and a summary instruction are then sent to the Google Gemini API for processing. The video file, YouTube account, and viewing history are not sent. The extension is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
