The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Transcript & Subtitle Exporter for YouTube™
Export the transcript of any YouTube video as a file on your own computer.
Open a video, click the button, choose a format. That's it — no account, no
sign-up, no upload, and nothing to pay for.
FORMATS
• Text (.txt) — the whole transcript as plain readable text
• Subtitles (.srt) — timed cues, ready for a video editor or player
• CSV — timestamp and text in columns, for a spreadsheet
• Markdown — timestamped, for notes and documents
• Chapters (.txt) — the video's chapter list, when it has one
WORKS ON LONG VIDEOS
Tested on a three-and-a-half hour video: all 1,493 transcript segments came out,
none dropped, timestamps in order. Lectures, podcasts and conference talks are
what this is for.
NOTHING LEAVES YOUR BROWSER
There is no server, no account and no analytics. The transcript is read from the
YouTube page you already have open, and the file is saved straight to your
computer. Nothing is sent to the developer or to anyone else. The extension runs
on youtube.com and nowhere else.
SCOPE
• Works on standard video watch pages; open a Short on its normal watch page.
• Chapters are read from timestamps in the video's description.
• Subtitle timings are second-accurate, which suits reading and note-taking.
• Where a video carries several subtitle languages, the extension tells you
which track it is exporting.
FREE
Every format, no paid tier, no trial, no locked buttons. If it saves you time
there's a Support link in the popup, and ignoring it is completely fine.
