Transcript Studio puts the transcript of the YouTube video you're watching right next to it, in Chrome's side panel. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Follow along: the current line is highlighted as the video plays, and clicking any line jumps to that moment - Search the transcript, with every match highlighted - Translate captions using YouTube's built-in caption translation - Copy the transcript with or without timestamps - Export as .txt, .srt or .vtt - See the video's chapters (from the creator, or from timestamps in the description) OPTIONAL AI FEATURES (bring your own key) Add your own API key from Anthropic or OpenAI, or any OpenAI-compatible service (including Google Gemini or a local model), to unlock: - Summaries in several styles - Ask questions about the video, with clickable timestamps in the answers - AI-generated chapters - Q&A study pairs AI features are completely optional. Everything above works without a key. PRIVACY - No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking - Nothing is sent to the developer. The extension has no server - Your API key stays in your browser and is sent only to the provider you choose - When you use an AI feature, the video title and transcript are sent to that provider. Long transcripts ask for confirmation first, since they can cost money with your provider - You can remove your saved key at any time in AI settings Works on youtube.com.
