About Transcript Downloader for YouTube

Transcript Downloader for YouTube lets you save any YouTube video's transcript as a clean, timestamped text file — instantly. How it works A "Download Transcript" button appears on any YouTube video that has captions available. Click it, and the full transcript is saved as a .txt file named after the video title. That's it. Why you'll love it - One-click download — no extra tabs, no copy-pasting, no sign-up - Timestamps included — every line is formatted as [0:00] so you can jump back to the exact moment - Works with both auto-generated and manual captions - Lightweight — no background processes, no data collection, no permissions beyond the YouTube page - Completely free, no ads Perfect for - Students taking notes from lectures and tutorials - Researchers archiving video content - Content creators repurposing video into blog posts or articles - Language learners studying subtitles offline - Anyone who prefers reading over watching Privacy This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any user data. It runs entirely in your browser and only activates on youtube.com.
