Trailback helps you get back to any web page you visited, even weeks later, even after you cleared your browser history. This free extension is the browser half of Trailback, a private memory app for Mac and Windows. It tells the Trailback app on your computer which page you're looking at (the page title and web address). Later you can find it again just by describing it, like "that pricing page with the blue table". WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES - When you open or switch to a page, it sends that page's title and address to the Trailback app on this computer, using Chrome's native messaging. - If you quit and reopen the Trailback app, the extension reconnects on its own. No need to restart Chrome. - That's all. Nothing is sent to the internet. Not to us, not to anyone. - Incognito windows are never included. - It doesn't read page contents, what you type, or passwords. - Optional: if you switch on "Include text I select" in the Trailback app, the extension asks your permission and then also passes along text you highlight. ABOUT TRAILBACK You know you saw it, saved it or worked on it (a website, a screenshot, a file) but you can't remember where. Trailback remembers what you do on your computer, so you can describe it in your own words and get straight back to it. Works 100% offline. Stays 100% private. Most "AI memory" apps send your screen or history to the cloud. Trailback doesn't. Remembering, reading screenshots, sorting files and searching all happen on your own computer. Turn off your Wi-Fi and it still finds everything. It never records your screen or your passwords. FIND ANYTHING - Search the way you remember. Type what you'd tell a friend, like "the GST invoice from the designer last month". Trailback understands what you mean, not just exact words. - Say when and where. "Last week", "in March", "from WhatsApp" or "downloaded from Gmail" narrow the results automatically. - Files first. Matching files and downloads show at the top, with a preview of the line that matched. - Web pages you visited, even after you clear your history. - Screenshots, found by the words inside them. - Files and PDFs, found by what's in them rather than their name, plus the website each download came from. - Press Space to preview any result. LOOK BACK - History: see your work grouped by task, as a timeline, or pick a day and time to see what you were doing. - Pick up where you left off: reopen every page and file from a recent work session in one click. - Your week: a private recap of your projects, new files and upcoming dates. - Upcoming dates: due dates and renewals found inside your files, right on the home screen. ORGANISE AND TOOLS (all offline) - Collections: every file sorted by what it is (invoices, contracts, screenshots and more), where it came from and which project it belongs to. - Tidy: real names for messy files like "download (3).pdf", and related files grouped into folders. Nothing changes until you say yes, and everything can be undone. - Grab text: copy amounts, dates and reference numbers from any screenshot or photo in one click. - Copied text: find something you copied last week. - Blur private info: hide card numbers, emails and phone numbers in a picture before you share it. - PDF tools: merge, pick pages, rotate, lock with a password and make scans searchable, without uploading anything. - Image tools: convert, shrink and combine images on your computer.
