About Toss it – Remove Unwanted Google Search Results
Toss the clutter. Find your thing.
Turn clearing unwanted Google search results into a satisfying gesture. Hold a result, drag it to the right and let it fly. The results below move up, making room for what you actually want to read.
• Toss whole results
Move a result together with its related links. Supported news, image, video, question and information sections can also be tossed as groups.
• Enjoy playful physics
Results fly with gravity and rotation. Short, gentle throws bounce back into place. Press Esc to cancel a drag.
• Keep discovering
As you remove regular results, automatically bring in results from later pages, including available thumbnails and page labels. This feature is enabled by default and can be turned off.
• Undo and redo
Restore a tossed result with the Undo button. Ctrl+Z follows the order of tosses and supported text edits. Use Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y to redo.
• Keep the controls out of your way
Drag the panel to a comfortable position or minimize it to a small icon that snaps to either side of the window.
• Choose how links behave
Enable “Keep link dragging separate” to drag hyperlinks normally without picking up the whole result.
Getting started
Open a supported Google search page, hold the left mouse button on a result for 0.1 seconds, then toss it to the right. Normal clicks still open links as usual.
Compatibility
Works on regular search pages at www.google.com, www.google.com.hk and www.google.com.tw. Designed for desktop mouse use.
Google layouts vary, so some result types and thumbnails may be unavailable. Hidden results return when you refresh the page. Combined undo works with supported text fields on the page; it does not control the browser address bar.
Privacy
Search-page content and undo history, including supported text edits, are processed in the current page’s memory. Undo snapshots are not saved to disk or sent to the developer.
Toss it has no analytics or developer-operated server. When enabled, page refilling requests additional results from Google, and remote thumbnails load from their image hosts.
