The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About TimeTiles
See where your time actually goes, every time you open a new tab.
TimeTiles turns your new tab page into a live treemap of your browsing. Every site you use is a tile sized by how much time you spend on it, shown with the site's icon so your habits are visible at a glance. Click a tile to open the site. Time is counted per day and kept for a rolling year, always stored locally on your own computer.
The toolbar popup adds a donut chart for today or all time, with slices colored along the visible light spectrum by usage share, plus a list showing each site's exact percentage and time.
BLOCKING AND REDIRECTS
- Preset block groups for porn, social media and entertainment, each with a list you can edit
- Your own blocked sites, plus exceptions that are never blocked
- Quick toggles in the popup for instant on/off blocking of the sites you choose
- Detects "pay-to-refuse" cookie walls and asks before blocking anything
- 1-to-1 redirect rules, for example sending the YouTube homepage straight to your subscriptions feed
- Blocked pages forward to a random site from a list you choose yourself
ALMOST EVERYTHING IS CONFIGURABLE
The settings page lets you change the treemap's title and icon, how much of your usage is shown, which sites are excluded from tracking, every block list, all redirect rules, the popup quick toggles, custom icons per site, and site groups that merge related sites into one tile (built-in groups like Google and Wikipedia, plus your own). You can export and import all settings and tracked time, and turn on automatic backups that rewrite a file of your choice on every save or on a schedule.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No accounts, no analytics, no tracking. Everything is stored in your browser's local storage and nothing ever leaves your computer.
TimeTiles is free. Some advanced features may become a paid one-time upgrade or subscription later, and existing users will be told before anything changes.
