Thumbsy

Thumbsy is the thumbnail research and production tool built for YouTube creators who take design seriously. Hover any video on YouTube and get instant access to its full-resolution thumbnail, an extracted color palette with exact hex codes, and a 60/30/10 breakdown of how each color is used — so you can reverse-engineer what's working before you shoot a single frame. What you can do: • Extract a 6-color palette from any thumbnail with one click — Dominant, Secondary, and Accent colors with exact percentages and hex codes • Download the highest-quality version of any thumbnail • Select multiple thumbnails at once, anywhere on YouTube, and bulk-download them as a ZIP or export a side-by-side comparison grid image • Save thumbnails to your personal swipe file and organize them into boards • Paste a YouTube link or upload an image to find visually similar high-performing thumbnails, with search history so you can pick up where you left off (Pro) • Preview how your own thumbnail reads in a real YouTube feed, search results, and sidebar before you publish (Pro) • Share an annotated review link with your team or clients and collect feedback in one place (Pro) How it works: Thumbsy runs entirely inside YouTube — no new tabs, no copy-pasting URLs. Hover a thumbnail, click the palette icon, and the data appears instantly. Color analysis uses pixel-level sampling, so the breakdown reflects how a thumbnail actually reads to the eye, not just which colors technically exist in the file. Free to use, with Pro unlocking similar-thumbnail search, the feed simulator, collaboration review links, unlimited boards, and more. Built for thumbnail designers, YouTube strategists, and creators who want to understand — and replicate — what makes high-performing thumbnails work.
