About The Great Filter
Less noise. More of what you came for. The Great Filter helps you hide distracting posts, avoid spoilers, and make your feed feel like yours.
Choose what gets through
Start with Gentle, Balanced or Strong to choose how careful filtering should be. Open Customize to choose individual filters and how matching content appears.
Choose the things you would rather skip: spoilers, clickbait, ragebait, politics, promotions or low-quality comments. Protect a story you are watching, block a topic you are tired of, or write a rule in your own words—for example, “Hide posts about cryptocurrency price speculation.” Choose which comments to check, including spam, repetitive comments, insults and engagement farming.
Keep control
Blur, collapse or hide matching content completely. Reveal filtered content when you choose, temporarily reveal everything on the current page, and make exceptions for sites or trusted accounts. Pause filtering at any time.
YouTube and beyond
Hide YouTube Shorts completely, protect supported comments from spoilers and skip detected sponsor segments. Sponsor skipping depends on available captions, a visible transcript or optional community timestamps. The extension also supports X, Reddit, TikTok descriptions and comments, and text on many other websites, including supported Google AI answers. On TikTok, available captions already displayed by the player can be checked too; audio from videos without captions is not transcribed. Coverage depends on the page layout. Filtering can occasionally get it wrong; you can reveal content or make exceptions when you choose.
Check pictures too, when you choose
Optional picture checks can spot unwanted topics or text inside public pictures on X and Reddit, and YouTube thumbnails. This preview checks one still image per supported post. Videos, animations, private pictures and oversized or unavailable images are skipped. Picture checks need their own permission and are off by default.
Start free. Add smart filtering when you want more.
Basic controls for labeled ads, Shorts and selected feeds work on your device without a paid account. Optional smart filtering uses AI to understand what posts and comments mean and apply your preferences. It requires a subscription and your permission to send selected text and relevant rules or topics to our service and AI provider.
Smart filtering costs USD 9.50 per month before applicable tax. Try it with a three-day free trial; payment details are required. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Checkout shows the applicable tax, final total and renewal terms before you subscribe. Subscribing does not turn on text sharing automatically.
Unlimited means no daily or monthly checking quota. Request-rate limits and service availability apply.
Your privacy and account
Your settings, feedback and filtering diagnostics stay on your device, except the selected content and relevant rules or topics needed for a smart filtering check. Text checks use Jev. With separate picture permission, a selected public image and its visible caption are sent to our service and Perplexity Decider v1.1 through OpenRouter. Typed input, editable fields, private-message pages and known sensitive areas are excluded where recognized; these safeguards can be affected by site changes. Account details and subscription status are handled separately. Review what is shared and turn smart filtering off in Settings > Smart filtering to stop new filtering uploads. Manage your plan in Settings > Account. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription; use Manage subscription to cancel.
