Tempo – Speed & Focus for YouTube

Tempo puts you in control of YouTube: watch faster, stay focused, and stop when you planned to. Everything is one click away in a simple popup. PLAYBACK SPEED UP TO 16× • Go past YouTube's 2× limit, from 0.25× to 16× • One-tap presets, a fine-tune slider and +/− buttons • Keyboard shortcuts on any video: [ slower, ] faster, \ toggle 1× • Keeps your speed between videos (you can turn this off) RESUME WHERE YOU LEFT OFF • Videos continue from your last spot, even if you're not signed in CINEMA MODE • Dims and blurs everything except the video, with a soft ambient light behind it • Shift+C to turn it on or off, Esc to leave VOLUME, PICTURE AND QUALITY • Volume boost up to 400% for quiet videos • Brightness, contrast, saturation and warmth for night viewing • Default quality for every video: 480p, 720p, 1080p or the best available DAILY LIMIT AND INTENTION • Choose 15, 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes a day and see how much you've watched • When time is up, Tempo pauses the video and offers to close the tab, or to give you 5 more minutes • "Why are you here?": name your goal when you open YouTube, and Tempo keeps it in view while you browse VIDEO TOOLS • Copy the full transcript with timestamps in one click • A–B loop: repeat one part of a video, great for learning languages, music or code • Save the thumbnail in the best quality available (up to 1280 × 720) • Save the current frame as a PNG image FOCUS FILTERS • Search-only mode: no feed, sidebar or suggestions • Hide Shorts, or play them in the regular player with a seek bar • Hide the home feed, related videos, Mixes and comments • Grayscale thumbnails, to make clickbait less tempting • Hide live chat, the notification bell and shopping shelves • Hide end screen cards and turn off autoplay WORKS EVERYWHERE YOU WATCH • Controls YouTube players embedded on course sites, blogs and docs • If a page has several videos, pick which one to control • Available in English, Español, العربية and اردو PRIVATE BY DESIGN Tempo has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no ads, and it never contacts any outside service.
