About TabSweep – Auto Close Inactive Tabs & RAM Saver
TabSweep keeps your browser tidy by closing the tabs you forgot about — automatically, safely and with a full history so nothing is ever lost.
★ AUTOMATIC CLEANUP
• Closes tabs that have been inactive for longer than you choose (3 days by default, set it in days and hours).
• Checks every few minutes in the background (interval is configurable).
• Never closes the tab you are looking at, pinned tabs or tabs playing audio.
★ CHAOS MONKEY 🐒 (optional)
Inspired by Netflix's Chaos Monkey: on each check it may close ONE random tab among those that look abandoned — so the pile of "read later" tabs never grows out of control.
• Weighted by real signals: tabs inactive for more than half your time limit, tabs you opened but never visited or barely looked at, and duplicate tabs (same URL open twice).
• Only acts when you have more than N open tabs, with a daily maximum and a minimum number of tabs always kept open.
• Domain whitelist (Gmail, Calendar and Docs by default) that it never touches.
• Simulation mode: see what it would close before letting it loose.
• "Open now" shows each tab's chance of being picked and why.
★ NOTHING IS LOST
• Every closed tab is logged with title, URL, favicon, date, how long it was inactive and why it was closed: automatic (inactivity), Chaos Monkey or manual.
• Reopen any tab with one click, search the history and filter by type of closure.
★ DASHBOARD
• See all open tabs sorted by inactivity, with the time left until each one is closed.
• Jump to or close any tab from the list.
• Light and dark mode. Available in 19 languages.
★ PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything stays on your device (chrome.storage). No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no tracking.
• No remote code. Open the dashboard by clicking the TabSweep icon.
