The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About TabNotes: Sticky Notes for Websites
TabNotes keeps notes attached to the pages where they matter. Add a floating sticky note to a temporary tab, an exact URL, an entire website, or your global workspace. When you return, persistent notes reappear with their source context.
CAPTURE AND WRITE
- Create blank notes or capture selected text, highlights, page elements, screenshots, and images.
- Write with Markdown, checklists, tags, colors, opacity, reminders, and previews.
- Keep text and element anchors connected to the source page, with guided repair when a page changes.
ORGANIZE AND RECOVER
- Review page notes in Chrome's side panel without covering your work.
- Search, filter, collect, archive, restore, and bulk-manage notes in the dashboard.
- Export notes as JSON, Markdown, CSV, HTML, PDF, or calendar events.
- Review Chrome Sync size before enabling it and create passcode-protected backups.
- Extract browser-local OCR text from screenshots and image notes when your browser supports it.
OPTIONAL AI
Free users can use local fallback, a loopback provider on their device, their own provider key, or a local LLM. TabNotes hosted AI is available for paid workflows. Remote AI is off by default, requires an 18+ confirmation, and shows an editable payload before every note request. Email addresses, web addresses, and captured source text are selected for redaction by default.
LOCAL-FIRST PRIVACY
Notes stay in Chrome extension storage by default. Chrome Sync, analytics, future ads choices, and remote AI are optional. Analytics, future ads choices, personalized ads, and remote AI use separate choices and remain off until enabled. TabNotes does not sell user data, share note content with ad providers, or use browsing activity for advertising, credit, or data-broker purposes.
FREE AND PRO
Version 1.0.3 makes Free much more useful: up to 100 notes per scope, including temporary, URL, domain, and global notes, plus templates, collections, reminders, screenshots, images, browser-local OCR, sync size review, passcode backups, rich exports, local fallback AI, bring-your-own AI, and local LLM support. Ad placements are deferred during the current retention-focused launch. Optional paid Pro plans remove note limits and unlock hosted premium services. Stripe hosts checkout; TabNotes does not receive or store full card details.
