The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Tab Audio Recorder
Record whatever the current Chrome tab is playing — YouTube, a meeting, a podcast — and save it as a file on your computer.
Tab Audio Recorder captures the tab’s speaker output. Sound in the tab keeps playing while you record. Recording continues after you close the popup.
Features
• Record audio from the current tab
• Optional microphone mix-in so you can include your voice
• Pause and resume
• Save as WebM (Opus), WAV, or MP3
• Choose where files go: Chrome’s save dialog, a Downloads subfolder, or a folder you pick once
• Custom filename pattern using {title}, {date}, {time}, and {datetime}
How to use
1. Open the tab you want to record
2. Click the extension icon
3. Optionally enable Include microphone and pick a save format
4. Press Start recording
5. Press Stop & save
Notes
• chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store cannot be captured
• The first time you enable the microphone, Chrome may open a permission tab — allow it once, then start again
• WAV and MP3 use more memory on long recordings than WebM
• Nothing is uploaded. Encoding and saving happen on your computer
Requires Chrome 116 or later.
