Switchboard Browser Companion

Switchboard Browser Companion connects Chrome to the Switchboard AI agent that runs on your own computer. It is a free, open-source extension, not a standalone chatbot. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Ask for a task in the side panel, for example "open this page and summarize it" or "fill in this form with my details", and watch each step as the agent works. - The agent works in its own tab group called "Switchboard", so it does not take over the tabs you are using. - Choose how much to approve: Manual (approve every action), Auto (each action is checked automatically and you are asked when it is unsure) or Skip (no automatic checks). - Chrome asks you to allow each website, one at a time. Purchases, new accounts, permanent deletion and sensitive fields are blocked, and downloads need your explicit approval. - See what the agent did in a local activity log, and stop a task at any time. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install Switchboard on your computer and start it with the Browser preset: npm install -g @botconnector/switchboard, then sbx web --preset browser 2. Open this extension and press Connect browser. Pair with the single-use code that Switchboard shows, or automatically if you install the optional helper. 3. Give instructions in the side panel, the Switchboard web page or the command line. PRIVACY The extension talks only to the Switchboard service on your computer (127.0.0.1). Switchboard may send selected page content to the AI provider you choose. The extension does not sell data.
