The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Swifty Download Manager
Send supported HTTP and HTTPS download links from Chrome to Swifty Download Manager on your Mac.
• Open SDM from the toolbar, or choose Download with SDM from a link's context menu.
• Choose which direct file types SDM handles in Download settings.
• Use Download when offered by the website for files confirmed by the source server. Ordinary web pages and failed checks stay in Chrome.
• Optionally add direct file types to Download instead of previewing. This list is empty by default; it does not capture embedded video or streaming segments.
• Choose Open SDM or Continue in browser when a matching address shows the confirmation page.
• Keep your file-type preferences local to the current browser profile. Save settings applies to open pages and new tabs; Restore defaults resets both lists.
• Send matching website cookies, the browser User-Agent, and source website origin to the local app for supported signed-in downloads. Handoff is encrypted and stays on your device.
Requires macOS 14 or later and Swifty Download Manager 0.5.1 or later. Enable website and cookie access and keep SDM running for browser-session downloads. SDM uses the session only for your selected download and does not save browser cookies in download history. After restarting SDM, send the download again from the signed-in browser. With URLSession, resuming a paused browser-session download restarts its transfer.
Automatic candidate handling checks response headers with a HEAD request. HTML previews, failed checks, and unsupported endpoints continue in Chrome. Explicit Download with SDM actions remain available independently of the file-type lists. POST bodies and arbitrary Authorization/custom headers are unsupported. Hold a modifier key while clicking to preserve Chrome's normal behavior.
