SurfBreak

SurfBreak: Bridge the gap between your distractions and your goals. Most website blockers fail because they are too easy to bypass. SurfBreak solves this by integrating your To-Do list directly into the blocking process. It doesn’t just stop you from browsing; it redirects you toward the work that actually matters. How it works: When you try to visit a site on your blocklist, SurfBreak intercepts the request and guides you through a multi-tier "Friction Funnel." This funnel is designed to break your automatic habit loops through four intentional stages: 1. Breathing: A 10-second pause to stop the mindless impulse. 2. Cognitive Puzzles: Math challenges to engage your logical brain. 3. Task Redirection: Your real-time To-Do list is presented as a better alternative to the distraction. 4. Intentionality Typing: A final check to ensure you are making a conscious choice. Why SurfBreak? SurfBreak is built on the philosophy of "Mindful Friction." By combining a robust site blocker with your personal task list, the extension reminds you of your goals at the exact moment you are most vulnerable to distraction. Features: - Productivity Over Distraction: Instantly pivot from a blocked site to a pending task with one click. - Gamified Focus: Track your progress with a Focus Score that rewards disciplined choices and task completion. - Privacy First: Built on Manifest V3, all data stays local to your browser.
