4. Pick a style preset (Default, Researcher, Executive, or ELI5)
5. Click "Copy Summarization Prompt" — a perfectly formatted prompt is copied to your clipboard, ready to paste into any AI chatbot
Features:
▷ Works on any webpage — articles, blogs, documentation, research papers
▷ Full YouTube support — automatically extracts video transcripts
▷ 4 style presets — Default, Researcher (comprehensive), Executive (bottom-line), ELI5 (simple language)
▷ 3 summary lengths — Brief, Standard, Detailed

▷ Multi-language output — summarize in English, Greek, French, Spanish, Japanese, or any language
▷ Fully customizable prompts — edit system and user prompts in Settings
▷ Keyboard shortcut — Ctrl+Shift+S (Cmd+Shift+S on Mac)
Privacy first: Summarize It does NOT send your data to any external server. All content extraction happens locally in your browser. The extension simply copies a formatted prompt to your clipboard — you decide where to paste it.
Why use Summarize It?
Instead of copy-pasting long articles into AI chatbots and writing your own instructions every time, Summarize It does the work for you. It intelligently extracts the relevant content, builds an optimized prompt with your preferred settings, and puts it on your clipboard in one click.
Permissions explained:
▷ The extension needs access to webpages to extract their text content for the prompt
▷ YouTube access is used to fetch video transcripts via YouTube's API
▷ Clipboard access is used solely to copy the generated prompt
▷ Storage is used to save your preferences locally
