About Substack Analytics, Stats & Profile Audit — Subshack

Likes are not subscribers. Substack shows you which Note got applause. It does not show you which Note brought someone in, who those people are, or what to do next. Subshack is the Substack analytics and growth extension that closes that gap: stats for your own Notes and articles, the people behind the numbers, a profile audit that scores any public Substack profile out of 100, and campaigns and welcome messages that you set up and stay in control of. It uses the Substack session you are already signed in with. No sign-up, no password. PEOPLE, NOT PERCENTAGES • Opens, clicks and new subscribers are shown as counts of people, next to the rate, so a growing list never reads as a decline. • Every figure comes from your own account and can be checked against Substack's own screens. No invented score. SUBSTACK NOTES ANALYTICS • Every Note in one sortable table: impressions, new subscribers, engagement. Notes that share an article show the article. • Your best-performing formats and posting hours, measured against your own baseline: the Substack insights the platform does not give you. • Organic, community and reciprocal Notes kept apart, so a sub-for-sub thread never passes for content that works. A Note leaves the Organic view only when its type is certain or set by you. SUBSTACK POST STATS • Your published articles side by side: views, opens, clicks and the subscribers each post brought in. PUBLIC GROUPS LEADERBOARD • Subshack automatically contributes daily activity totals for the public Substack group chats available to your account, so writers can discover active communities. • Only public group details, daily message/thread/reply/participant/help-request totals, and broad topic labels leave the device. No message text, transcript or member identity is sent for this leaderboard. A group is ranked only after three separate installations report it. AUDIENCE • Followers and subscribers kept apart: following your profile and subscribing to your publication are two different things. • The readers who engage with your Notes, with the public Substack profile behind each name, and segments you define. TODAY • What to do next, with the evidence: readers worth answering, profile fixes, the Note that brought subscribers, replies waiting for you. Three to five actions at a time, ranked from what Substack recorded. Nothing is sent from this screen. • Your first figures appear while your data syncs, each marked as still counting until it is complete. • Cards that list several people can be marked done one person at a time. AUTOMATE AND CONVERSATIONS • Campaigns: write one message, add your link, and choose where it goes: the Substack group chats you already belong to, or the readers you pick for a private message. • Conversations: your private conversations sorted by what they need. Questions and interested readers come first, thank-yous are marked resolved, "get back to me next month" comes back in Today on that day, and what you know about each person sits beside the thread. Suggested answers wait for your click. • Welcome: a welcome message for new subscribers and another for new followers, written by you, with an optional line written for each person that you can test before anything is sent. Send limits, quiet hours and a do-not-contact list live next to them. • Nothing is sent until you set it up. A campaign starts only when you press Start sending, then sends one message at a time, minutes apart. Welcome messages wait as drafts unless you choose to send them automatically, after a delay and outside quiet hours. Every sending feature has a daily limit and can be paused. • Subshack never publishes a Note, an article or a restack, and never follows, likes or subscribes for you. CAMPAIGN MODE • On Substack, Facebook Groups, Reddit and X, copy your campaign message and link, tracked for the place you share it. It reads the page address only. It never posts or messages there. SUBSTACK PROFILE AUDIT • Score any public Substack profile out of 100 against a checklist (bio, publication, links, recent activity) and get concrete fixes, starting with your number one priority action. Podcasts, videos and Lives count in your activity. • Two rewrite suggestions for the tagline and the bio, to copy if you like them. • Audit yourself, or a creator you want to learn from. Same engine as the free web tool at subshack.pro/tools. FREE TO USE • One publication, your latest 50 Notes and 10 articles, 2 active campaigns, and each day 20 private messages, 30 welcome messages and 2 group posts. WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES • Data is stored locally and backed up privately to subshack.pro by default for new users. Settings → Privacy lets you disable backup; existing disabled choices are kept. Your Substack session never leaves your browser and is never stored. • While backup is enabled, what leaves your device is disclosed in setup and Privacy: the growth actions you confirm in Today, your Notes and articles with their stats, the labels computed for them, the people Substack exposes on your Notes, and your subscriber list with e-mail addresses. • Inbox and Automations use AI on your conversations. To suggest a reply, the message and its thread are sent to our backend and AI provider. To follow a campaign, the new messages of the conversations it started are read the same way and not stored. If you turn on conversation sorting, the latest messages of the conversations you open are read the same way to tell which ones need a reply; the result stays in your browser. A welcome message written in AI mode, or its optional AI line, is drafted by the same provider. • Profile rewrite suggestions send the public tagline or bio to our backend and AI provider; nothing is stored. • Anonymous, no-PII usage analytics help us improve the extension.
