About SublimeRead
Listen to any web page instead of reading it. SublimeRead reads articles, blog posts, docs and anything you select aloud in natural, human-sounding voices, and highlights each sentence as it's spoken so you can follow along.
HOW IT WORKS
• Select some text and press Alt+Shift+S (Option+Shift+S on Mac), or just press it to read the whole article from the top.
• SublimeRead finds the article and skips menus, sidebars, ads and footnote markers.
• The sentence being read is highlighted, and the page scrolls along with it. Scroll away and "Back to reading" takes you back.
• Pause, skip and stop from the small player on the page, the toolbar popup, the right-click menu or keyboard shortcuts.
SHORTCUTS
• Alt+Shift+S: read the selection or page, or pause
• Alt+Shift+. / Alt+Shift+,: next / previous sentence
• Alt+Shift+X: stop
(Change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.)
NATURAL VOICES IN 7 LANGUAGES
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese. The language is taken from the page, and you can change it in the popup. Choose the voice and the speed (0.75× to 2×).
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
The voices run on your own computer, so the text you listen to never leaves your device. The extension only sends SublimeRead a random ID and the time when you start a read, to count the free plan's daily reads.
FREE AND READER PLANS
Sign in with a free SublimeRead account for 3 reads a day and 3 voices. The Reader plan gives you unlimited reads, all 12 voices, and the full SublimeRead reader for your EPUB and PDF books at sublimeread.com.
