The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Stream Catcher · M3U8 & Magnet
Stream Catcher helps you identify media resource links loaded by the current web page.
After you explicitly enable capture, the extension automatically collects M3U8/HLS playlists and magnet links from browser tabs and presents them in a clear, searchable list.
Main features:
• Capture M3U8 and HLS playlist links loaded by web pages
• Detect magnet links displayed or dynamically added to pages
• Search, copy, clear, and manage captured links
• Open magnet links with an installed compatible application
• Download supported HLS streams and export them as MP4
• Process standard AES-128 encrypted HLS locally when the source provides an accessible key
• Support master playlists, key rotation, explicit or implicit IVs, EXT-X-MAP, EXT-X-BYTERANGE, MPEG-TS/AAC, and common fragmented MP4 streams
Why install Stream Catcher?
Many web players do not display their media playlist URLs directly. Finding these links manually through browser developer tools can be time-consuming and error-prone. Stream Catcher collects supported resource links into one convenient interface, allowing authorized users to inspect, copy, open, or save them more efficiently.
The extension is useful for content owners, website operators, developers, testers, educators, and users who need to save media they own or are authorized to use.
Privacy-focused design:
• Capture is disabled by default and starts only after user consent
• Captured records remain in the current Chrome session
• Playlists, encryption keys, and media segments are processed locally on the user’s device
• No developer backend, advertising, analytics, or telemetry
• No remote executable code
Stream Catcher does not support or bypass Widevine, FairPlay, SAMPLE-AES, paywalls, login restrictions, or other DRM and access-control systems.
Only download or process content that you own, are authorized to save, or may legally save. Always follow website terms and applicable laws.
